The Borla system fits well because it's so many parts you can adjust it around. But that is also the downside as the joints tend to leak over time. We also find that the welds on the crack all the time. Borla will warranty it, but it's a pain to deal with. Sound isn't bad though. https://www.waymotorworks.com/borla-...haust-r53.html
Just curious since I just put one on my car this summer and like it so far. Easy to install and it sounds way better than the one ball that came with mine when I bought it.
Here are some pictures of my JCW exhaust, 12 years old. Just inspected it and polished it up while doing a rear brake job. It still performs well and no issues. There are other exhaust out there for the Mini that are of the same quality, but less expensive. Additionally, there are many exhaust out there, some high priced, some low. The question is how long to you plan to own the car? I bought a high quality exhaust for most cars that I owned and it's well worth it if you plan to keep your ride. You can go inexpensive, but if you have to replace the cheap exhaust every 2-3 years, you might as well go all out in the beginning. Just my .02, good luck.

The welds are cracking where the pipes come together and the inside is definitely falling apart it rattles terribly
I should also add that, we've had the car 2 years. The gent who sold it to me owned it for several years and told me the exhaust was on it when he purchased it.
So, for what they cost, they do a good job.
I plan (my son is giving it back when he's finished with it) on keeping this car in as close to tip top shape as i can for a long time.
Thanks traildog. I imagine the current ebay exhaust is different from the one offered 5 years ago, but if mine lasts that long I'll be happy.
For $225 shipped I couldn't pass it up. If a weld doesn't hold I'm sure my welding friend can easily fix it. The clamps and bolts with the kit are also stainless steel so it just comes down to the mufflers holding up.
I really enjoy my Mini but it's still a cheap car. To put an $800 exhaust on my $4000 car seems pretty excessive when there is a much cheaper alternative.
The previous owner of my car spent $400 to have the local exhaust rig up a terrible muffler and pipe that lasted less than 3 years. Those are the people that are truly wasting their money. Especially in Wisconsin and other states that salt the hell out of the roads. Wish he would have picked one of those nice systems Way listed instead
I just popped for the WMW system. Can't wait to stick it on the car...
Get that puppy shipped please
Good for you. I'm sure you will like it. I have never met or had the opportunity to go pass Way Motor Works when I lived in Georgia. Everything I've heard about them is positive and I'm sure you'll like your exhaust. Post up some pics of the install. Cheers

She's sitting there waiting......... for some new BLING..........
And packaged very well.
Oh boy, I almost decided NOT to install it....It would look GREAT hanging on my man cave wall....
Cleared out the old exhaust and spacers that helped make it fit.......
When WMW said it would fit perfectly, they were spot on.....iit did. I mounted it completely and left all fasteners loose.
I tightened the bolts starting in the front working my way to the back and tben took a test drive.......
Sounds excellent..... unfortunately, I exposed another exhaust leak. Its somewhere in front of the new pipes..... Almost sounds like the header came loose. I'mwaiting for it to cool down and then I'm going to take a look.
Holy crap that's your catalytic converter, never seen that happen. As long as the internals aren't loose I'd carry it to a shop and have them weld it back up. Let a professionally do it so you know it won't leak.

So, a muffler shop should be able to fix it? I sure would like to save the bucks if I can.
Oh yeah, that's just a weld job, make sure to make some marks across the two pieces so it can be correctly lined up before welding if it accidently comes in two before you get it fixed.
