I installed Mightystripes yesterday.

MAN, what a difference an investment of $30 makes in a car.

I got the standard bonnet stripes for a MINI Cooper for $30 and installed
them in about 30 minutes.

They were quite easy to install, but they didn't go on prefectly.

I'm not a perfectionist, so I have three very small defects.

I was installing them outside (I wouldn't recommend it) and two tiny bits of something stuck to the adhesive and left small bumps. I'm not bothered.

I also wasn;t paying 100% close attention, and got a small area with a rough spot in it where there's a very slight folding of the sticker.

If I had been paying a little closer attention to detail, they would have been perfect I'm sure.

I would say I am 100% satisfied with this product. MAN, $30 and I have stripes!!! I didn't need to go to a local sign company or anything. They just showed up on my doorstep and I stuck them on.

I have material for the boot also, but the curvatiousness of that particular area of the car scares me so it will be a while before I try and install stripes on tha back.

I would say that everyone intested in bonnet stripes should go out and invest the cash. I LOVE the new look.

cool! Do you have a pict?

I too think the bonnet stripes really tighten down the front look
of the car and very happy with the purchase. Mine's the dealer one
which I installed. It took me like an hour to do though...

Fantastic Trippy - so let's see some pixs!!! You have a lot more patience than I do when it comes to putting stripes on....

Chow!

Are they removable. I know you mentioned adhesive, but I thought the factory ones installed with water and a soapy solution and were removable.

These install dry, and the instructions say to heat them up with a hairdryer and they will peel off.

Bloody 'ell Trip,

That's one sharp looking MINI. IB/W with stripes rocks! Seems that we agree on somethings, like little British cars and their "proper" colours.

Here's Blubelle. I've been a striper since 10/02.

I love IB/W too! Great pics there!

White Wheels, White Graphics, White Stripe against the contrasting IB is so beautiful! Of course I went for something less traditional.

Where should I put the boot stripes?

Angled?

Towards the outside?

Towards the inside?

Trip,

I'd go towards the outside, so that the boot stripes line up like a continuation of the bonnet stripes. Extra points if you know what the USA's racing color combination is. (UK = Racing Green, Germany = Silver, Italy = Red, France = Blue, Belgium = Yellow) Don't get carried away though, while meatballs look great on the rally or track, they tend to be a wee bit over the top for the daily commute.

I'll be glad to help Trippy when you do decide on your boot stripes. Great job on the installation by the way, I like how you've got the "wet effect" going on in your picture..its's like a shower scene for the MINI!

Angled stripes on the boot look the best IMO. They help keep the lines of the car - beautiful and curvacious! If you put them toward the outside, it takes away from the lines of the car, and if you put them to the center, you should have done the fronts to match, otherwise it looks like a mistake.

mightystripes,

Is there a customer service phone number I can call to inquire/order?

Thanks.

I'm glad to hear you like your Mighty Stripes. I just ordered some to replace the factory ones currently on our MINI.

As soon as I get the MINI to the body shop, to have them remove some clear-coat scratches from the hood area, I'm going to have THEM install the stripes for me.

I got the black stripes with silver accent.

I received them about 3 days after I ordered them via PayPal. Pretty quick service!

I'm going to line up for a slight angle on the outside of the license plate and see how it looks.

I had to remove the COOPER letters with dental floss and clean the whole thing up with goo-gone as well as removing the Darwin-Fish!!

I'll take some pictures later. It's raining like crazy right now, but the car is in the garage.
