Bigger exhaust tips stock S muffler

I've searched old threads and have no definitive pics or info. I have been able to determine it seems that some cars have the exhaust tips spot welded on and some do not.

Someone easily slid them off, others hammered, others gave up, others drilled out spot weld, I think, the threads seem to die.

There has to be others like me that want a slip on bigger tip to fill the rear valence better with no more noise, anyone?

The S tips are welded on. The JCW tips are held on with. Set screw. Go t a local muffler shop and they should be able to pit on new tips.

I worry the local muff shop won't weld with the right stainless material and get a rusty joint.

The S tips are NOT welded on... they are held on by 6 spring clips. Depending on how oxidized they are, I was able to pull one set off by hand... the other set on our other F56 had to be tapped off with a hammer and piece of wood.

There is not MINI OEM tips that are bigger and a direct replacement. The JCW tips are about 1/4 larger in diameter, so the set screw will not work.

I'd suggest going to a high-end exhaust shop and see what various tips they have on hand in the pipe diameter you need... then have them weld them on.

ECS makes some exhaust tips that are clamp on. They are their own ECS Tuning brand.

I'm not sure what the pipe diameter of the S exhaust is at the tips but the ECS tips will work for 2.5" piping.

Those O'reilly ones look perfect and what I am after. Are they stainless? Can anyone confirm the size of pipe inlet and outlet?

Is it these, both have 2.25" inlet?

3" outlet

3.5" outlet

Perhaps this?

All of these are like $50 a piece. If we can confirm the stock outlet pipe then I might gamble and order.

None of those are what I bought. They are stainless yes. You can take off one of your stock tips and measure.
