Which brake pads for a DD?

I was a big fan of MetalMaster on my BMWs, but it seems the Axxis XBG which is its current incarnation isn't available for Justa R56. I've used Porterfield R4S, but I just don't like them as much.

Looking for quiet, good cold bite, and low dust. I'm not an autocrosser or track fiend, though I might do an HPDE at Lime Rock at some point. What pads do you guys recommend?

I've tried 3 types over the years on my 2003 Cooper.
In chronological order:

OEM - actually a pretty good pad, but lots of sticky dust
Hawk HPS - very little dust, but soft cold bite
CoolCarbon - medium dust, and great performance including cold bite.

I like ebc red for the street

I use yellow for the track, they are ok, I have brake ducting, they are horrible cold

and HP+ for autocross, huge bite but squeak and dust are extreme

EBC red for sure!

Very low dust, better stopping pad than OEM

Pile on another vote for EBC Red street use.

+1 to what Waylen said. There was a time years ago when no one would touch the EBC Reds because they had a few instances where the pad debonded from the backing plate. EBC took the issue to heart and completely redesigned the attachment method. About the only way to get the pad off now would be to destroy it with a chisel and hammer. Besides using them myself, I use them on my wife's and my daughter's vehicles. Nuff said.

I would look at Akebono euro ceramic pads; very low dust.

Brake Pads

Greens would be lower dust, but still think the Reds are the way to go. They are still on sale!

I've always ended up with warped rotors when using anything other than OEM pads/rotors.
