RMW tune over Manic

I have a buddy that's
been running manic stage 2 map C
for a few month's now
And it has been nothing but problem's
in higher RPM's it fall's flat! then other time's it's great !
it's like a 90/10 mix
And no matter what we try doing, nothing seems to fix it.
so am starting to think its the tune it's self!
keep in mind and a vw/tech for a dealer
so its not likei dont know what am doing.

we've tryed getting a hold of the company he got the tune
from
and they pretty much sad something was broken
and its the car's fault and not the tune.
so
he's thinking about getting a RMW flash tool
Any input on the RMW tune's?

Sounds like the turbo needs a new diverter valve. An upgraded version was released this year that no longer uses a diaphragm. The diaphragm is prone to becoming brittle and tearing.

Part 11658636606 that ecstuning.com sells is the new part without the diaphragm. You'll see the new part has one large yellow o-ring seal. The old part has the same o-ring but also has a smaller yellow ring visible which is the diaphragm.

I think it's something with the car. Running map C is around 21.5psi and if you are only running 91 octane, it could cause issues. RMW runs a much lower boost around 18psi
How does the car drive on map B?

Is your Mini a N18 or N14?

Last I heard, RMW has only done a few N14's and won't touch anything besides simple bolts ons. He turned away customers with big turbos, cam etc

Good luck trying to get support from him once you buy the tune. I have the remote tool as a papper weight on my table if you need to use one.

yeah' i was on there form page and it seem a little catchy! some of there builded stuff was kind of cool and what ' but my buddy and i have been looking for alternative other the manic! i've never had a problem with the tune i had got ' so am just going to let him run around with my old ecm until he can figure it out! after reading stuff about them i think we are just going to stay away from them' n14
Frankenstein ko4
cam 252
meth
and running 93 octane
he's running exactly what i had on before my rebuild ! so after putting my ecm in his car' it ran great didn't have any problem's nothing! then putting his ecm back in' back to the same old stuff so idk if somehow the ecm got corrupted i really don't know !

With RMW tune bet he's seeing 21 to 22/23 lbs of boost. It's a bit more than a stock diverter is designed to handle....each tune is tailor fit to the car. I know a few who have installed the diverters from Audi to remedy.

....I think its the N18's he hasn't done much with. Seen many N14's done in last 8 years. Hadn't heard about his shying away from MINI's with larger turbo....maybe those candidates he had been approached by hadn't done anything else in support of that mod = risk blowing up the engine ?

I had Jan tune my R58 JCW at the dragon last year. Had a Forge ic installed prior to
the RMW tune. Its worth it.

Are you really running 11.5 CR or is that a misprint, 10.5 is stock?
