Just picked up a 2013 R57 Justa for the wife. Auto trans, with Sport button. I can feel the effects of the Sport button, minus the pops and burbles that my 2011 R56S with manual trans has. Do auto trans Justa cars not burble and pop when in Sport mode? She LOVES the car, but would like to sound like "big daddy" with pops and burbles. Anyone?

 

I don't think any Justas pop and burble. At least mine doesn't.

 

I bought a 2010 cooper convertible with auto trans because wife can't drive a manual. I'm pretty sure the sport button is standard. Anyhow, I only drive it in sport mode, and there are no pops or burbles.

Yea, I could not get the R56 Cooper or any others to pop and burble. Now change the exhaust to an aftermarket one and you might get a different tone and run it hard on the track. Its funny because my R52 Cooper w/ JCW exhaust will pop and burble.

 

Pop and burble happens is available CooperS and up for 2011+. I think some JCW had it before too.

 

Thanks for the responses. My 2011 MCS pops and burbles nicely, was just wondering if the 2013 Justa would. Guess not. I may just have to try some exhaust mods...

 

I think the exhaust pops because the engine squirts a bit of fuel directly into the exhaust when you let off the accelerator so the first loud "pop" is not actually backfire. Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong.

 

My 2012 Pops and burbles a lot once it warms up

 

I pop and burble in my 2009 R57 with manual but only after I eat tacos.
