Question 2016 JCW Adding an Amplified Sub help

If I wanted to add a self powered all in one solution Sub that comes pre-amplified
(I as thinking about the Infinity BassLink w/ 8 Gauge Kit Combo)

in the rear hatch area of my 2016 JCW 2DR...

would it not be a simple as tapping into any rear speaker wire for a signal to feed the sub, in terms of having a source to work with?

Or, is there a simpler way?

I have the HK sound system, and I play mostly from spotify, pandora etc, and find the Bass rather lacking given the amount of sound the speakers put out, the amount of bass is almost non existent.

Cheers:

Back in the day, I did something similar with an Eclipse and a Bazooka powered sub. I tapped the left rear speaker wire for input, ran a power wire from the battery and found a ground point. Worked great, especially given the ease of the install.

As long as you can get adequate power and ground to the trunk, I think you're set.
Hopefully someone can correct me if I'm wrong before you go and try something you shouldn't...

not Clear

I understand electronics and have wired an amp, subs, alarms before... I don't do this for a living, but none the less...

It is clear to me, based on the (link showing mini amplifier wiring) schematic above, where to get the power to remote turn on the AMP. Power to the amp is pretty self explanatory (get it from the BATTERY), and ground (off the chassis right close to where the sub will be).

A) what is not clear, is where to get the LEFT and RIGHT speaker outputs to send to my Subwoof (built in AMP), that represent Left channel HOT (+) and Left Channel Ground (-) (same for Right Channel).

thanks

If I read it correctly, you want pins 20/21 (right) and 24/25 (left). Those are the outputs from the head unit (going through the engine sound module on the way to this plug) going into the HK amp.

So, if this is such...

Then Input to Subwoofer for Right Channel (+) would be pin 20, and Right Channel (-) would be pin 21...
Left Channel (+) would be pin 24, and Left Channel (-) would be pin 25

Where (+) would be the positive or hot side of the speaker, and (-) would be the ground side.

it is THAT in the schematics which is not clear, differentiating the (+) and (-) side of the Right, or Left channel for each speaker.

THANK you so much for your input.
