GP is not a kit...it is a specific model...some years were even built in limited numbers.... typically had VERY LIMITED OPTIONS to limit weight, and aimed at track use....some like them as daily drivers....so.e don't...try it first.
If somebody is calling it a "kit" it might be a fake "look alike"...
Be very careful....

When I was shopping for JCW's many websites had them listed as a JCW GP Kit. Also, when I got my insurance for my JCW the VIN is recognized as a JCW GP Kit even though it's a factory JCW. So the GP Kit designation doesn't necessarily mean the GP2 apparently. I always run the VIN on bmwvin.com just to make sure what model it is.

the car fax says 2012 MINI COOPER JCW GP KIT

this is what i get from the vin:

Type code SV93
Type JOHN COOPER WORKS (USA)
E series R56 (JCW)
Series M
Type COUPE
Steering LL
Doors 3
Engine N14
Displacement 1.60
Power 155
Drive FRONT
Transmission MECH
Colour CHILI RED (851)
Upholstery STOFF CHECKERED/JCW CARBON BLACK (ATP9)
Prod.date 2011-12-13

so does this mean a factory jwc?

ok another question i have is:
does "power 155" mean maximum power of 155kW? which is 211bhp?

thanks again

2nd Gen John Cooper Works models were produced for the 2009 - 2013 model years ... only the 2013 models had the N18 engine.

The 2012 model you're looking at is a Factory JCW not a GP. It may have some GP exterior parts ... underbody panel, rear diffuser or rear wing. Do you have pictures?

I also believe, but someone please correct me, that a JCW car can be upgraded to GP brakes. JCW is a step up, and then GP is beyond that, but it's just the brakes.

Using ECS to show the two kits:
Standard JCW: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/34110432802/

GP Upgrade:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assemble...4106858069kt3/

I believe it's 6piston vs 4piston up front.

Either way, there is a LOT of kit that goes into a GP, and the car you posted pictures of, doesn't have it. Might have the brakes, and 1 or 2 items, but it's NOT a GP.

For the brakes on the Factory JCW already, You just need the front kist:

https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...h/34106858069/

For NON factory JCW Brake , you will need the full kit/

Yes, 34110432802 is the stock factory JCW brakes. The GP2 is like a JCW brake ++

Based on the pictures there's nothing "GP" about the car

Based on decoding the VIN you know how the car is optioned so you can use KBB or Edmunds to price it.

The GP2 has a few more horsepower, no rear seat, a few other options deleted. Coilover suspension. The engine is the N18 which IMHO is better than the N14 JCWs (2012 and older). But the 2013 JCW has the exact same engine as the GP2, the compression ratios may be a slightly different but same turbocharger.

well it was a no go. i was there at the most 10 minutes. it had so many stone chips all over it i thought it had grey paint splashed on it. seriously. i think the sales man was in shock when i asked for my keys back and told him not to bother going over mine. he had some story about how they had some guy coming to fix the chips next week blah blah blah. i asked him if the guy was going to fix the gouge in the back also. he got pissy and said "so you were expecting a new car". i just bit my tongue and said if im buying a jcw i expected it to be nicer. went home . then got a phone call an hour later asking if they got it fixed would i be willing to pay more. of course i answered no. he tried to give me some story about why i should be willing to pay more. i said you have my number if he wanted give me a call when its fixed. the end

They are already trying to pump up the price by saying it's something that does not exist...you are dealing with high-pressure dishonest sellers run. LOOSE their number...block it. They are trying to rip folks off imo.
