Need 3 pin blower motor for 2002 Mini S

Can anyone suggest where I can buy a new blower motor for a 2002 Mini S? It's the 3 pin version. Mini says the part is discontinued and a new part will not be available until September.

I don't care if it's OEM or aftermarket, but I'll never make it to September without AC in SW Florida.

Even rockauto.com....
Some parts are semi-universal....meaning a maker takes a basic part them adds one or two custom pats to fit the mini...like the radiator fans...
Just checked....they seem to have resistors, but didn't see a motor for an 2002.

This really does suck. I've called most of the salvage yards and virtually all the listings on eBay. While some say they are the correct part, when they go pull it and look - it's the wrong unit.

I can't believe Mini would allow this to happen. This effects Mini's built from 2002 to 2008. WTF?

I love this car, but not very happy with MINI. SW Florida is not the place to be without A/C in June/July/August. So, basically, I have a car that I can't use.... just ranting!

Did you check this websites classifieds?

There's usually someone parting out a whole car. What years did they use the 3 pin? I know one company was parting out an 03.

Anyway to make the newer blowers work? Are they the same size? I'm no electrician but I would think you'd be able to rewire it. Someone with a part out would sell you the plug im sure. Maybe it's not that simple though.

I may have located one. Will know in a day or two. From what I understand, the 2 pin can not be converted for this application.

Good luck, I have an 02 too.

If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have bought an 02. I love it, but a newer model would have been easier to maintain. Stuff like the headlights being different to the lack of any rust warranty. At least we get a free power steering pump and the 06 doesn't haha.

Since I can't find a blower at this time, I was thinking maybe I could put a 12v fan on the intake side of the ventilation system and force air into the plenum. Anyone have a clue where the ventilation intake would be located?

Did you try this?

They show quite a few 2002 blowers.

Tried many of those posted on that site. Calling on more Monday. Most are 2 pin, once they actually pull the part to verify.

You probably already did this but just trying to help.

Have you searched by the part number 67326901862?

I just did a google search and it brought up a lot of bmw parts suppliers. Pretty expensive at $250 but it sounds like you would gladly pay it. You probably need to call all of them but you never know if one of them still has the part sitting on the shelf

In answer to the question about rigging something up - remove the cover for the cabin air filter. That box is where the two inlets meet (outside and recirc) just before the blower.

I had to get one for a MINI few months ago. Ebay....but the ebay store was using generic photos from one of their personal archives, so it wasn't a 3 pin as purported when it arrived.

If you find one, just have them make double sure its a 3 pin before buying. Will save you some time.

Thanks. I believe it may be necessary to rig a temporary fix, until I can locate a blower motor.

At this point, I have tried for 4 days to have someone find a 3 pin blower and although I have searched by the exact part number, upon inspection none are correct part. All have been 2 pin. I wish I could convert a 2 pin to work in the 3 pin but not sure what that would entail.

So, I'm really thinking that with 10 hours of labor involved in this job, I might be better off waiting until August when the part is due to become available again and just put in a new one.

Of course this would have to happen in June, here in SW Florida.

Have you asked your MINI Parts Advisor to contact BMW Help line by phone to confirm yet ? Every month since last year that ETA date for availability has been pushed back. And when I just checked today it indicates: "NLA = Y" Meaning, No Longer Available and the Y after that means "Yes".

My mini dear (and another) said they called and was given Aug 7 date. Know idea if that will be a valid date or not.

Really frustrating and unacceptable to us owners.

I intend to wright mini directly, not that it will help...

I was looking for 3 pole blower. The price of a new one is absolutely nuts. They are asking $1100.00 for a new one. No way in hell would i pay that.

Check the link again above from us, we have an aftermarket one now and the price is way below the genuine.
