HELP! about to buy a March 2004 MCS, need your advice

Hi, new to this forum.

been looking for a MCS for a while, and from lurking on this forum, people say get an 05/06.

however this weekend, i came on this March 2004 MSC.
-1 lady owner, no accidents.
-114k miles
-paint and interior is in awesome condition!
-xenon light, sport package, leather seats. moon roof.
-engine bay looks relatively clean, can see some moisture leak around valve cover gasket.
-she said, oil changes were done religiously
-new clutch recently.
-gonna test drive tomorrow

vin : TD85180. selling price at 5300$. waiting on carfax.

is this a good buy? KBB shows at that price for excellent condition.

05/06 is generally a better car.

They can still have the same problems as the 02 -04 models though. The parts that eventually fail on all of the r53 Minis, fail on those too.

5300 is an ok price. New clutch is good selling point. Watch mod minis video on what to look for buying a used r53.

In my area thats about what they sell for in decent shape. Depending on where you live, you can probably find a better deal though. Really depends on how good of shape this one is in, and what's been maintained.

That VIN has a nice option list, lots of the usual "must-haves". Deals are highly geographical. Up here in Portland/Seattle that would be a great deal.

By "moisture" do you mean oil? Replacing that gasket isn't too big of a deal if you're DIY-oriented.

Sounds like a good deal. Picked up a similar model last month with less mileage but paid about $1,700 more. Carfax a plus! Let us know how the drive goes!
