JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 2nd Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs are discussed.
Hey guys. Just recently bought a 2011 Mini Cooper JCW. It came with an automatic transmission but so far everything that I have read says that the JCW models was never available with an automatic transmission. So was hoping some of you JCW owners could shine some light on this for me. It has all the options that the JCW has (JCW exhaust, JCW tuning kit, JCW wheels) so I don't know.
Included a few pictures to help show what the car looks like. Any information is greatly appreciated!! Thanks.
That's ok! The JCW tuning kit is an expensive upgrade and looks great. So, someone went through the price of paying for it and having it installed already for you.
As you've learned, and others have said, you indeed have a 2011 Cooper S with a JCW Tuning Kit installed. They're worth having, and not cheap, $2000-$2500 and installed by a MINI dealer. I had mine installed before I took delivery, very pleased. Enjoy your new ride :-)
The tuning kit basically increases the boost and HP of the turbocharger. And maybe some other minor stuff. But it doesn't include the Brembo brake kit or the body kit the factory JCW cars have. They have a bigger turbocharger too. But it's a faster car than the MCS. The automatic transmission started coming on the factory JCW cars around 2011 or 2012. I think.

I believe the automatic was first installed from the factory for the new generation JCW in 2015. I remember it well because I wanted a 6-speed manual and I had to wait a long time for it as MINI was highlighting the new automatic. I still prefer the manual, despite how quick the auto is. I'm just old school I suppose.
Here's mine. 2020 Midnight Black. BC Racing BR coilovers, Megan Racing rear upper and lower control arms, 15mm spacers + appropriate longer lug bolts, Burger intake, Burger JB4, Racing Dynamics FMIC and IC piping, tint, black door handles, aftermarket functional hoodscoop, totally debadged
I think I have this 2024 JCW Clubman dialed in. I added the M7 skidplate. Cravenspeed phone mount with a magsafe charger. KW V3 coilovers with OZ Racing Superturismo Evoluzione 19"x8.5" with 245/35R19 pilot sport 4s. Full body paint protection film. Ceramic coated. Every piece of glass with ceramic tint.
So happy with the config I ended up with (bought it used with 5k miles on it). Im learning the seats are crazy comfortable compared to the sport seats. I love the alcantara strips on the seats and the cross hatch leather. I had a little rubbing in the rear after the coilovers but fixed it by just raising the car a bit. (It was only an issue with the whole family in the car and hitting bumps, but now it never rubs.)
