Advice for stripped lug bolt hole

Hey all, so my front driver wheel only has 3/4 lug bolts at the moment. The lug bolt itself was stripped as well as the matching threads in the hole. I cant get a new bolt in there without new threads to screw into.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue or know the proper size and thread pitch tap that needs to be used? Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated!

F.Y.I its an 09 JCW

Heli coil. 14mm X 1.25 is the thread pitch that you need to get. You will have to look in the helicoil kit to see what tap you need.

The REAL repair is a new hub. If it was a five bolt hub I would do a heli coil. I would have to question 1 of 4 bolts not 100%. But that is just me

You can get the repair kit on line relatively cheap

Good luck

+1 there 14x1.25

You could just replace the wheel bearing. I dont know how damaged the threads are but they do hold the wheel to the hub, that might be a safety concern.

I would go with a new hub.

To do a Helicoil insert that large,it would be best to remove the hub and do the repair on a vertical mill or drill press IMO.
