New Mini Owner ! Really Happy So far

Hi My Wife just picked up a 2011 Cooper Clubman ( Non Turbo )

Low Kilometers, all the options, 6 speed, really clean car, she's super happy.

Question on the 2011, I believe its a N16 Motor ( am I correct here? )

Do these 2011 non turbo models suffer the same timing chain issues that the

Slightly earlier Turbo models had ( the death rattle )

Looking forward to checking out the rest of the forums!

Cheers

Congrats on your new MINI! In answer to your questions; it's the N18 motor, and the 2011 non-turbo motors do not have timing chain issues.

Thanks!

I kinda thought the Turbo was the N18. and the NON Turbo was the N16,

I will have to look into it deeper.

Cheers.

Yes - you're correct. Your car has the N16. It does not have timing chain issues. Enjoy your new car!

Clubman is the most usable of all Mini's, while still a blast to drive. Pictures, please? We would all love to see it.

Cheers!

Yea, the silver white is a great color. I like it even better then pepper white on the Gen 1 MINIs.

Nice! I have really been working on my wife - trying to convince her to trade in our big V8 Dodge Durango (family car) for a Clubman! If I really wanted to play dirty, I could mention the idea to my 9 year old daughter and she will do the convincing since she loves the MINI! Alas, my wife is a country girl who loves big trucks, so I probably can't win against heritage I suppose.

Problem is, she can't drive a manual so she hasn't experienced all the fun. We may take a journey down to FLOW Mini in Raleigh one day so she can test drive it. That would probably be the best convincing tactic anyway!

Eventually though...it will happen
