So it appears that my volume **** has decided to start melting and be all mucky. I've been web searching for replacements and can only find the previous model's *****, and also for a seemingly expensive price too. So now I'm at a fork in my next steps:
1) Hopefully somewhere here has had these replaced themselves or otherwise and has some insight as to where I can pick mine up for cheaper than a brand new rotor lol.
(Update: I found this, and called my dealer:(Link to ECS Tuning) However from the dealer and this site they are both >$30 USD, which seems unreasonable. So I think I want to explore option 2 in more detail.)
2)I'm thinking about creating one in CAD if all else fails and 3D printing one myself. (UPS has a 3D printing service as i'm sure is also available online.) If anyone has any experiencing with this part specifically in relation to modelling it, i would love any advice/files to help my creation.
Any advice/help is very much appreciated!
Thank you!

Should show up free ship? Does it show free shipping for you. Yea some of the MINI parts are small but pricey.
Actually yes, it did show up with free shipping, my bad. However, even with that being included in the price I can't see myself paying that much for a tiny **** that I rarely use.
I would more likely just pull that off, plasti dip it and see how that works. IMO, a fair price for that part would be $20 tops, but should be $15 in reality.
Well if I end up getting mine, I'll send you the 3D file if I get around to making it and testing the 3D print haha.
Hey, I was just gonna check and see if you ever ended up making that 3D print file?
If so, would you mind posting it? I have the same problem and don’t wanna pay $34 for a plastic ****.
R56 Sticky **** Solution, so easy and works perfectly:
Remove the *****
Clean them with alcohol to degrease (still sticky after this step)
Let them air dry a few minutes,
Coat them lightly with clear satin water-base polyurethane using a lint-free cloth swatch. (I used "MINWAX Wipe-On Poly" since I already a had a bottle but any water-based satin should do)
Let dry overnight and snap them back in place.
***** are now good as new. The only downside is the little white circle wipes off the volume **** when you degrease it with the alcohol, but since it isn't a reference pointer and we don't need a reminder which **** is which, for me this was a positive!
Happy Motoring!
