Trunk popping issue (i have searched)

I have a question after doing some of the tests I have managed to find searching for anyone who may have fixed this similar issue. My 09 MCS trunk started popping uncontrollably. When starting the car. While driving. A temporary fix was to lock all the doors while inside but I want to fix it the right way. I have removed the switch. To the naked eye there are no cracks in the seal of the assembly or the light covers on either side and no sign of any corrosion on the plug or connector. I did use a paper clip and the plug works fine to pop the trunk (expected that because obviously the trunk pops). Now...I have removed the trunk handle and switch from the car all together and when I sit at idle I can hear a series of clicking in the passenger back corner as if something is trying to lock/unlock the trunk and doors but since the switch is no longer there it obviously won't pop the trunk. Am I wrong to think that my rear switch is NOT the issue since i see none of the usual signs of damage and that it is something else making all the locks go haywire?

This is caused by moisture in the electronics. Happened on my 2008. The only fix my dealer did was to replace the handle
