apple hill run
I figure we leave the bay area around 730 meet anyone in the sacramento area area around 930. Then up to apple hill on hwy50 . At 11am we have a tour of the Jack Russel Brewery (provided their not to busy) There is a picnic area available. There are many farms in the area celibrating the apple harvest with crafts , food and music . We can all shop and eat for a few hours and then meet up back at the Jack Russel and take some nice roads home (not the highways). Anyone in the sacramento area no of a good meet up spot ? Anyone else wantto meet usalong the way ?
More MINIs are always welcome

OK, Sacramento area members, where shall we meet the posse? Lot's of great parking lots along the US 50 corridor... Maybe the Lake Nimbus area by Hazel Ave? It has public restrooms and water faucets (State Park facility) for the Bay Area folks to freshen up before continuing on to Apple Hill.
yup the 25th it is.

I'm in for meeting up at IKEA at 7-7:30am in Emeryville... I'm 10 minutes from there. I guess we're going to run up I-80, meet up with Zied somewhere near hwy12? I have no idea where Camping World is though. You could park on the shoulder and wait for us in that area.
Camping World is the same offramp from 80 in Suisun that takes you to Scandia, Suisun Valley road, I think (just past the 680-80 merge). How long from Ikea to there? What channel on the 2-way radios will everyone be on?
I can get a cup of coffee at one of the many fast food restaurants on that offramp and wait until you say you are approaching, maybe once when you are leaving Vallejo and again at 680, and I will get on the freeway.

What time are you Norcal guys going to be arriving at Apple Hill???? I would love to join up with you since you're in my backyard. I know you're meeting at IKEA, but are you planning non-stop to apple hill or a detour somewhere? Just trying to plot where I am going to tag along!
Leave Eastbay at 7am . Meet at Emeryville IKEA (powell street exit hwy80) at 730 leave at 8am . Head east on 80 to Sacramento . Take hwy50 towards Tahoe. Take HAZEL AVE. off ramp and meet at Lake Nimbus park (north side of 80). Leave Sacramento at 10am . Meet up in Placierville at the Starbucks by the Rightaid (exit after signals on 80 ). Leave Placierville at 1045 on a little run into Apple Hill. We should be at the brewery around 11am.We will use the Jack Russell Brewery as a central location and have a picnic lunch there. Bring your lunch or get food at one of the local spots (the brewery does not sell food). We will leave around 330-4 o'clock and take some back roads out. FILLYOUR TANK. RADIOS SET TO 14 - 7. I WILLHAVE THE CLUB CELL PHONE #510-919-8889 . I'LL BRING SOME RAFFLE PRIZES DONATED BY EAST BAY MINI .
Thanks for the layout. I will try and catch up with you at Nimbus dam/lake. Be advised there is not much parking there, but across the street is a whole bunch of fast food/gas stations. On the south side of the hwy 50 (off EB lanes) there is a shopping center(numbus winery) and there is plenty of parking there... If anyone has any questions Dinlo has my email... or send a PM to me. I work right down the street from this location so I drive by this area every day!!!!
SOUNDS LIKE THE SHOPPING CENTER ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF HWY 50 IS A BETTER SPOT TO MEET UP FOR SACRAMENTO.NIMBUS WINERY AT HAZEL AVE OFFRAMP. THANKS GOLDCOUNTRY.

Okay guys, since there are a lot of us that are joining the group on the way, lets determine now what 2 way radios should be set at... both the channel and CTCSS code (sub channels, off or 1-38). GMRS Channels 1-7 & 15-22 are capable of a range up to 6-8 miles (if your radio is newer). FRS Channels 8-14 have a maximum of a 3 mile range.
I think we should select a channel with a longer range so that those having radios equipped may get adequate warning to get on the freeway prior to the group driving by.
Since you don't plan on stopping anywhere between IKEA & the Sacramento pick up point, perhaps people joining the group should post their joining point so that someone can warn them when the caravan is approaching.
