Massive loss of headroom with the moonroof?

Went and checked out a car today. This is third r50 I've actually gone to look at, but the first with a moonroof. I love these cars partly because I fit. I'm sort of a "long torso" 6 foot tall guy, so I'm usually searching for headroom. The other two r50s had headroom in spades, with enough leftover room for me to fit in one with helmet on and not need to adjust the seat at all. There was a solid 2 inches between my head and the roof.

Today though, I couldn't even fit in the car properly without being required to tilt the seat back more than I'm used to, which put the steering wheel a bit far away. Does losing around 2 inches of headroom sound correct for a slicktop vs moonroof car? The only other thing I can think is that there was something wrong with the driver seat that didn't allow to go as low as it should have. PPI is tomorrow, hopefully they'll catch it if that's the case.

It just seems weird to me that the moonroof takes that much headroom out of the car. Does that seem correct to you guys?

Something is wrong. Sounds like the seat wasn't all the way down.

Did you pump the seat down?

Sometimes the seat height adjuster fails and locks into a high position. You should have tons of headroom with the seat adjusted all the way down. I haven't looked at this problem before, so I don't have a quick fix for it.

im 6'1 with a moon roof, and I have no issues with head room, sounds like a seat issue, I know they take up some room, but not that much

I pumped until the handle stopped. The mechanism was stiff though, I'm not sure the current owners really ever moved the seat up and down.

PPI turned up a bunch of little problems I didn't notice when I was there though, so this one will most likely be a car to pass on. I'll keep moonroof cars on my shopping list for now.

I am a fan of the moonroof, but one thing to be aware of is that it is common for the drain tube to come dislodged allowing water to leak into the car and cause corrosion to the footwell module computer on the driver side and also to the body control module computer and fuse panel on the passenger side.

Inspect these areas for water infiltration and corrosion especially around the connectors if possible.
