Help! Countryman rear brake caliper mounting bolt?
Help! Countryman rear brake caliper mounting bolt?
Help! I did the front brakes on the 2011 countryman S without difficulty. I'm trying to do the rears this morning and I can't figure out how to get the rear caliper mounting brackets off, which need to come off so I can replace the discs. They appear to be attached by some type of reverse Torx head nut on the inside of the trailing arm. It looks like I need some type of special Torx head socket to remove this nut? The brake disks won't come off without removing the mounting bracket, of course. Anybody know what size this is, where I can get one?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I do not know the size but if I remember correctly I have seen the tool you are looking for at Sears and Harbor Freight. You might call them and ask if they carry them. I also think they are called "external star" sockets.
Thanks! Turns out to be an E-torx socket, size 14. Works like a charm. In the end, a pretty easy job. Now i just need to figure out how to reset the brake warning light since i replaced the front and rear sensors as part of the brake job.
