Idea on fun color comb and thoughts on Plastic Dip Jobs?

I am thinking of getting Plastic Dip from Plastic Dip Long Island (www.plastidipli.com). These guys can do the job for about $600 bucks with rims. Wanted to know if you guys have any thoughts on Plastic Dip? I figure it would be nice to pretty it up for few years.

Would love to hear thoughts on people who have Plastic Dip or Vinyl. Vinyl would be a fun DIY project that will really challenge my OCD but it could go wrong.

Also, looking for ideas for color combinations. Whatever colors I go with it will be a matte finish.

Thanks!

$600?!? For plasti dip?!

You can buy yourself a rattle can and a nice nozzle for literally almost 1/100 of that price.

What all are you looking to dip? For that price it better be the whole darn car.

Others would have to chime in on dipping the wheels but I've used it on trim pieces (headlight/tail light trim, grill trim, hood scoop) and its held up for coming on 6 months in the Florida heat. I even recently rubbed off some of my overspray in an unseen area and it came off no problem..even with a thin, non-continuous layer.

It is for a the whole car including the rims. I need to visit them to get specifics but seems like they do the whole car including details like badges, door handles, headlight trim etc.

Thanks for letting me know about 6 months in Fl heat. Seems promising. Btw, where did you get your can/nozzles from for the spray? I want to get it just to touch up things that might not.

The can I got at Home Depot..Lowes also stocks them.

Or there's a website that's pretty synonymous with plasti dip and they sell them along with kit bundles for nozzles or extras for diy. Not sure if we can post links but a quick google search for plasti dip car or something should bring it up.

Will check it out at HD. Thanks! So any fun ideas of what color combo I used go for. I had this idea to paint the car similar to a fresh asphalt color and run two white racing lights in the middle. So kinda looks like the road and black out everything!

Lots of DIY videos available for plasti dip. It's definitely cheaper than vinyl and can be done pretty cheap doing it DIY:

I've never used plasti-dip but when I was on the FR-S forum it was very popular with that group. One thing I learned, just from reading, is it's very easy to work with. If you should make a mistake just wait till it dries, peel it off and do it over. If, after awhile, you decide you want to change colors just peel it off and re-spray. People specifically questioned the durability of plasti-dip and the responses were it was very durable, even on wheels which can take a beating.
