MCS swap to JCW calipers?
MCS swap to JCW calipers?
Is it possible to swap my 2 piston R53 calipers to the JCW 4 piston calipers? or is this a totally not needed upgrade? I do autocross felt a little fade in my brakes but only after 6 very hard runs, I have stock calipers with stoptech rotors and pads. Not sure if needed or if they are just a waste of money.
There are several things you can do to improve braking before switching to a big brake kit or JCW brakes.
Replace brake fluid with higher temp fluid (not OEM) and change it once yearly.
Use brake pads that tolerate higher temps (those made for light track use)
Spend some time with an experienced autocross instructor who can check and critique your braking technique. Too many drivers will brake late and overshoot/understeer into a tight turn. Some drivers will brake when they don't need to such as in a slalom (due to going too fast for the spacing).

Good catch, I meant to add that. I'm not sure how the rebuilt units are but they can be had from your auto parts store for under $200 with the carriers included.
I would also suggest SS braided line since you have to disconnect your old lines from the calipers anyway.

I have a set of R56 JCW Brembo brakes waiting in the garage to be installed, so my 2012 R56S calipers, rotors, and pads will be posted in the marketplace in a week or two...

If you truly go with the R56 JCW 4 piston brakes, check whether your current wheels will fit over them.
