N14 2007 engine same as Peugeot 207 gti?

Hi,

I have knocked the ring lands off piston 4 on my 2007 n14 mini cooper s, running about 260-270bhp.

I am more than likely going to build up a proper forged rod and piston bottom end around 8.5:1

In the meantime I would like to have a second engine put in so I can take my time re-building my current one but keep my car on the road.

Second hand running N14 engines are expensive in the UK for some reason.

I was wondering if the Peugeot 207GTI engine (I believe it is the same PSA engine) is the same?

Any input welcome, or any sensible route to get a N14 engine second hand that is running and not a rip off would be great.

Thanks :-)

It does appear that the Peugeot 207GT uses the same Prince series engine. Keep in mind that while it's the same design, Peugeot makes the engines in their cars and BMW makes the engines in the MINIs. You can find 1 or 2 Peugeot-labeled parts in some R56, but the majority is made in a BMW factory and may have slightly different tolerances.

Did this idea ever get off the ground

I am trying a slightly more radical approach with a similar Theme later this year
