New Aero Wipers chatter badly!?

I upgraded last summer to the New Aero Wipers from ECS Tuning and it was raining on my way home last night, for the first few minutes there was no chattering, but after those few minutes my new Aero Wipers chatter badly skipping and hopping all over my windshield! This was supposed to be an upgrade, I have no RainX or any chemicals products on my window. It seems like the rubber used on the Aero Wipers has to much traction on the windows, it happens even when raining cats and dogs. I don't know what to do?

Much appreciated!

Go to YouTube and search WS Wiper chatter. There is a mechanic that describes how to stop it by slightly bending the wiper arms back to where they are supposed to be. The bend out of position after awhile. It is very helpful.

I don't have the new aero ones. Mine chatter alot when I had dealer replace the rubber blades under maintenance. Then I got the new ones from Amazon that had the whole set and chatter disappears! So, my chatters were from cheap refill.

This is correct but maybe not complete

the other issue is a wiper is a squeegee ... and a squeegee works best on CLEAN glass

I'm not talking WINDEX clean .... I'm talking

run the glass with a razor blade ( window scraper that uses single edge blades)

and/or CLAY .... I save the clay I no longer trust for the paint and use it on the glass

... you won't believe what you pull up if you've never done it before

odds are your blade chatter goes WAY down .. but that angle of attack thing is not total BS either . . .

(the curve in MINI front glass means the wipers are pressed hard to meet the curve ... hence more chatter is likely. The glass in my 79 is nearly FLAT ..... minimal pressure pushing the blade to the glass and no chatter.)

I added the 2013 arms and blades too. I have seen that once but only after a hand wash at a drive in car wash....

Washed the car again at home since, went thru a rain storm and back to normal. In my case I attribute it to whatever soap wax the car wash place was using.

Sorry forgot to mention I performed the bending of the arms, the wipers flip over on each side like there supposed to, my windshield has probably 100,000 chips and imperfections like it's been sandblasted. Going to clean my windshield with my Meguiars clay tomorrow, we'll see what comes off.

Whenever I wax my car I wax all my windows too. I've driven an hour home on the highway in heavy rain without using the wipers once. As long as you're going highway speed the water just beads and flies straight off. I also second using a razor. You will be surprised what comes off.

I have the new blades too, but I clean my glass regularly with autoglym glass cleaner ( its a very thick blue paste), no more chatter after using that

I've had wiper issues on my 2013 since day one with 7 miles on the odometer. The dealer had replaced the blades 4 times and I have cleaned the windshield every known way and the problem remains. I've bend the arms very possible way. Basically, I've done everything and sometimes they work good sometimes they are horrible. The problem is that nobody makes an aftermarket blade for the aero wipers so I can't try a different blade to rule that out. I'm thinking of retrofitting the older style.

I have aero blades and use RainX on my windshield to reduce chatter and to bead the water off. In light rain I don't even need to use the wipers.

Your experience mirrors my own, these rubber blades are almost sticky almost like racing tires. I will use my clay tonight and see if it makes any difference, haven't had the time last two days. If that doesn't fix the chattering I will have to order the original wiper arms that came with my car, I'll also see what info ECS Tuning has to say about it, surely they must have had some complaints about the Aero Wipers.

I do know that the Aero Wipers have had a couple of redesigns in a short period of time from 2012-now. I saw some 2013 MCS that we're slightly different from one to the other, my original wipers that came with my Mini worked beautifully but looked bulky and unattractive but functional.
