R50/53 'Italian' tune up.'
'Italian' tune up.'
Someone once posted here to keep deposits from building up the car should be driven hard. I have an 05 Cooper convertible. Once or twice a month I drive to my nieces so my car spends 150 miles at 80-85mph. Every three months or so I toss in a can of Chevron fuel system cleaner or equivalent. Is that a sufficient 'tune-up?'
The 'Italian Tune Up' was more of a thing with carbureted motors before electronic fuel trim monitoring. I'm sure you could burn a little of the build-up on the piston tops if you 'Ike Turnered' your car, but a conventional tune up would yield better results.
