Lighted JCW door sill?

Anyone know anything about this. Is it a worthwhile option to dress the car out (I will be adding both interior and exterior JCW packages to the car). Wondered if anyone has seen them installed and operational? Bright lights?

It's over $440 option over the counter. The lights flicker when temps drop below freezing and for some reason batteries don't seem to last long...

The large flat replacement batteries are also not available thru MINI. ( about size of a half dollar )

Thanks for the info. Guess I will scratch that off my wish list. Batteries, seriously? sheesh! For that kind of money it should be hardwired into the car electric.

Batteries? What version are you talking about? The 1st and 2nd gen OEM illuminated sills are hardwired:

Yea, the thirds gen are a little different then the 1st and Second Gen Cars which have a wired system. Gray - Do you have the the flat battery type, dont see where it says it , if its like key batteries you can get them through other sources cross ref. ?

I'll check for the number, and your right it doesn't come up anywhere.

It is a very large flat watch battery, larger than the replacements for 2nd gen key fob remote.

Yea, might have the battery code right one it ( on the top ) like those flat CR batteries on the key fobs, if we can find the number , ref it , then down the road if it dies, people will have a off the self replacement.
