Looking for tires and maybe wheels for my 02 R53

I have factory wheels on there now and I'm fine with them but may take them to a friend who has a wheel shop and will mount the tires. Any suggestions?

Check wheel+tire offers from ECS. They used to have sets of 4 of R90s, but ran out. These are among a few they have.

if your wheels are fine and only need tires, there are many different tires out there.

each are like a untensile you eat with, some are meant for things, while others are meant for other. allseasons are like the sporkife (spoon, fork, knife) can do everything, but nothing super well like the dedicated counter parts. if you only have 1 set of wheels, and 1 set of tires, this is fine

What size rims you running?
The gen1 car was 16 stock, with 17 an option....18 was even added later...
You will find the stock mini widths are kinda rare, and $$...but going to an alternate size with only a 1-2% change in diameter can result in some real $$ savings and more tire choices, and folks usually get a slightly wider tire....

I have 17" 8 spokes (stock mini) with Continental Extreme contacts, they are nice freaking grippy knowing I hydro planed on a banked curve going about 75mph and didn't die (205/45/17) Summer tyres I plan to get pilot super sports 215/45/17 still very undecided about rims.

If you change rims do yourself a favor & make sure they are lighter than than those S Heavy boat anchors you have now. Light wheels pay dividends in handling & will help you accelerate & brake better.

+1
Light rims make a HUGE difference In how the car feels....giving the steering a more playful, lighter feel, and making the car less truck like (once you switch you will understand). Big heavy rims act kinda like gyroscopes, and while giving the car straight line stability, makes the turns ponderous.....and heavy s-lites, aka boat anchors, or s-heavies, are the WORST offenders...but the look is popular and they are strong...
