Wait!! So rear facing baby seats dont fit in a Countryman comfortably?! I was told by my dealer they fit no problem, ordered one, but just read in article that it barely fits and front seat needs to be moved way up? Not good...can anybody speak to this??

Do you mind posting the link to the article? I don't see how it would be an issue since the seats in the back move. As well as the fact it is more then likely based on the model of child carrier as well.

The type of seat matters greatly as well as the height of the driver/passenger.
We're about 5' 3" and had the Britax system where the base and stroller accept the infant seat or rear facing seat and it wasn't a problem.
I could easily see it being a problem if you're 6' 3" however.

I still had some room to slide my seat back if I wanted to so I imagine someone around 5' 9" would still fit.
The real issue with the rear facing seat is the impact it has on the driver seat angle.

Our backwards facing seat would be behind the passenger seat, and my wife is 5 foot 7. So that shoukd be ok?

You could always put the rear facing car seat in the middle as well. Thats what we do with ours. We have a Maxi-Cosi Mico and it fits really well. It also leaves enough room for two passengers on either side of the baby seat. I've also placed it behind the passenger seat at times and it fits comfortably with me in the seat and I'm 5'10".

Thumbs up Rear facing infant seats fit

I have been silent on this forum for a bit, and never really was that active. Anyways I wanted to chime in on this. The baby seat I have fits snugly but just fine. Like someone else said the middle spot is the best, but I can fit it behind the drivers seat and I am 5'11". I do like to drive with a bit more bend in my legs though. My wife and I have a GIANT rear facing seat, its the Orbit baby G3. You should be good to go!

If they fit on a gen1..a unit with a base, forget the brand, fit fine..then a forward facing one, and now a booster..no issues.....hard to understand that anything but a freaking HUGE seat will not fit in a bigger MINI.....

Our Brittax B-Safe bucket fits easily in the back of the Countryman, plenty of room up front of it too, so long as the back seat is slid all the way back.

We just bought a 2015 Countryman S, with me (5'3") as the primary driver and my husband (5'11") the passenger. We tested the Britax B-safe infant car seat before purchasing, and my husband had plenty of room in the passenger. Between testing and purchase, baby moved up to a backward-facing convertible Britax, and husband has no problems with comfort despite the carseat being behind him.

The Britax bucket is actually a little bit on the long side for car seats too. If they fit in a Countryman, any Chicco will fit just fine. The Britax comes out 21 inches, the Chicco 19. If space is a concern, look at the Chicco Keyfit, it also has slightly better safety standards than the Britax.

Great timing! My baby boy was born today! We got a Chicco keyfit and it fits in the MIDDLE back set perfectly with tons of room. More space than my wifes Range Rover Evoque.
