Try the mk2 forum. My 2c is that phone navigation is light years ahead of car stuff and you already own it. Try Brodit, KUDA and dashmount for a nice cellphone bracket. If you have iPhone i *think* ios8 can put the instructions through the Bluetooth.

+1 on using your phone.

Both my MINIs have the CravenSpeed universal phone mount. Pricey, but all metal, looks OEM attached to the back of the tach (IMHO).

I would think iOS can pipe the instructions through Bluetooth, Android has had that since day 1. We have Nexus branded Android phones and have had no issues.

Those are slick! How is the view over the dash with it? Looking for a mount to video my auto x laps.

You can adjust the arm to angle straight up if you want, but then you begin to interfere with sightlines.

I think the larger issue would be vibration. Your essentially mounting to the steering column, not sure what that would do to the quality of the video.

Mini do make their own mounting bracket to add their own (well, rebadged Garmin) nav unit to a Countryman (or any second generation Mini). It fits on the back of the tacho and can be swung around it left, top or right:

Appears to be $435 for nav unit, bracket and power lead.
