Intake Manifold Spacer

http://www.cravenspeed.com/the-koala...nifold-spacer/

Cravenspeed (Anyone familiar with them?) has an intake manifold spacer / koala for $239 with claims of 10+ HP.

Anyone have this on their car?

I can't find a review on here or youtube for it.

Help?

It's, from what I can tell, Brand new. Cravenspeed is a very reputable company. But I'm not sure anyone is running this just yet.

I coughed up the dough and ordered one... confirmed it will fit the N18 motor. Will report back in a couple of weeks I guess...

I was one of the beta testers for the product, in fact, some of the dyno results are from my MINI. I've had it installed for several months and I'm very happy with it, definitely feels like it makes a difference. Not terribly difficult to install either. Some easy bolt-on power!

It's already really tight in there. Wonder how thick it is ? My Experience in the past, every two inches made a difference. I'm really curious to see some guys give some info since I'm doing a build.

The spacer is about an inch thick. There is definitely room for it in there.

I understand the spacer on the intake manifold but what does the spacer do from the airbox to the intake pipe? Where the MAF goes.

makes it connect to the factory air box since the air box mounts to the intake if you move the intake back an inch you would be an inch short on connecting the pipe to the box.

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying that up. I wonder how it will work with my AEM System

Just read a good point. Forgot about the air box position. So, to sum this all up, intake gets moved an inch. Air box is affected and the tube going to the throttle body. The kit accommodates all this ? If this was a non turbo charged engine, I could see how it would drastically effect the intake system. But since it's pressurized, I'm skeptical.

Getting the manifold off and the turbo isn't easy and takes about 4-5 hours for the whole job. Adding an inch spacer will only make it a tighter fit, unless you put the car in Service Mode. It's a money back guarantee, but that after you will have 10-20 hours of your time or a big mechanics bill if your not doing the work yourself.

I think you're thinking of something else?

http://www.cravenspeed.com/the-koala...nifold-spacer/

I'm in no way a mechanic, and I don't see more than 40 minutes of work here, tops.

Looking forward to a review.

It's an intake spacer not an exhaust spacer.

Looks do able. And they provide a spacer for the stock air box if you need it. I have the DOS intake so that will just be an extra part on my car.

I just ordered and will post how it goes once I get it on.

You are right, I have worked on the exhaust manifold so much, I automatically thought it was the exhaust side.
Everyone can keep talking, I will take a time out

Awesome.

I don't suppose you have dyno access? Probably not worth dyno time anyhow, but worth a shot.

I'll be doing that in a month or so. I really don't wanna take it apart after I just built that whole darn thing tho. Unless craven have me a discount to show the increases I'll do it. You'd have an unbiased opinion then.

It would be nice to get the airbox spacer anodized black.

Well... I just ordered one. USPS Priority Mail. With any luck I'll get by Saturday.

That's how long it takes to save hundreds of dollars on car insurance.

That's exactly what I was thinking, anodized black. If this provides 12hp and 7 ft-lbs of torque to an 07-08 MCS this might equal a JCW Tune or at least pretty damn close. I will get mine anodized black in a few months.
