Inop top

Finally got into the top a bit today. I took off the mechanism covers next to drivers and passengers head. I pushed the open button and the sunroof motor whirs till it stops but the sunroof doesn't open. I press the button again and it sounds like the hydraulics run, but no motion. Watching the mechanism while pushing the buttons revealed nothing moves except the latches move to release and latch. This makes me think the cables are gone, but wouldn't the latches fail to work if the cable was broken? Any thoughts, folks?

Sorry, no thoughts from me~~~

Except that sometimes you need to shuttle between this site and the motoring alliance one for info. I'm quite surprised that in the three weeks since you posted nobody commented at all.

Good luck!

I am also surprised at the non-response, though I find that many of my posts receive little response. When I had my Miata there would be many responses. I wasn't aware of the alliance site, thanks.

Yeah, I had an NA for 8 years prior to the Mini and got answers with seconds of posting, including questions about my Audi that I owned at the time too.

Just didn't want to say that until someone else did!!
