Megan Racing Axle Back Exhaust

Does anyone have the Megan Racing axle back? If so, how do you like it? I want to give my Countryman S a better sound. I had a 2011 MCS hardtop with Magnaflow exhaust, and loved it. The price for the Megan Racing axle back is affordable, but I can't swing the Magnaflow. Input appreciated.

A very common practice is to cut out the resonator and 2nd cat and replace it with some pipe. Illegal in some states, others not. Very cost effective, low to no drone it sounds great. I would search here for countryman resonator cat delete. Good luck.

So what if just the resonator was removed? Don't know if I want to gamble with taking out a cat.

Not sure but the resonator is just a tube anyway....so maybe not much change. Listen to this video. FYI I'm sure he has it in Sport mode

I remember someone doing that same magnaflow setup, and being happy in the long term, no drone. No mention of removing cat/resonator on that setup. I also think someone did the same setup, removing the res/cat, then threw a magnaflow resonator back on because it was too extreme.

Please share, whatever you do. I was on the fence about the megan, magnaflow, and res/cat delete, before I realized I was trading the cms in. I'll be back on the hunt soon.
Special request if you do: An in-cabin sample, in-cabin/windows down sample, some daily driver type of references.

Good luck!

I do have the Megan Racing Axle Back Exhaust on my Countryman S 2011, with a stage 2, Mario downpipe (catless), straight pipe connected to the Megan Racing Axle Back Exhaust setup.
Great sound but loud, so I added a small resonator (recommended by Mario) installed in front of the Megan Exhaust and its perfect, girl friend and neighbors don't complain and when I'm solo in my mini and open her up, the pony's go wild and what a great sound she makes.
At the time I purchased my Megan Racing Axle Back Exhaust they were discontinued or very expensive, got mine for $100 used (a couple of months usage from previous owner), he thought it was to loud.

So, I have stage 2 done with Milltek downpipe and I am not happy with how it sounds. It makes pathetic popping sound. Nothing tough about it at all lol. I knew I didn't have enough cash for a full exhaust. I'm wondering what cheapest/best option would be for better sound. Thanks!

Leave the resonator and eliminate the 2nd cat..... you'll like it. lowers the pitch and no drone....nice for a daily driver....

I always recommend 2nd cat and/or resonator delete, and if you want more than that just go custom.

My setup...
