HI people

I just got my MCS from the dealer 2 days ago, and I love it, I love it from outside to inside, from inside to outside.

But I found a problem, regarding the passenger sport seat, after I sit it for a while, the next day I found that the leather is actually "fold up", I don't know if u guys understand what I mean. The leather is not plain, there is a part of it that is fold up. I don't know what should I do now, should I go talk to my dealer and ask them to change the seat? or any suggestion?

thx you in advance

Sounds like maybe you mean part of the seat has the leather inside out? Or a seam is stitched wrong. If either are the case , YES they should replace the seat cover, at least.

If you mean something else by "fold -up" Please clarify.

lapis leatherette is the blue and gray leather looking interior. I'm pretty sure it's not real leather.

It's real leather, I think "fold up" = wrinkled, this can happen if the tanning process was not done correctly, if it's really bad, go see the dealer and insist on a new seat.

No the Lapis Blue Leather is definitely real leather. It's by far my favorite car leather and I have seen (and sat in) many expensive brands.

If the dealership does not deal with it to your satisfaction, call MINI USA directly and lodge a complaint, don't let them brush you off by saying "its normal", there have been other complaints about this from othe MINI owners. If your seat looks like the picture below, don't wait to get it fixed.

It's amazing to me that a dealer would let a car off the lot that looked like that! What, were they just hoping that Totoro simply didn't notice???

It takes a couple days for that to actually happen I think. When my friend got his MINI it wasn't like that. And apparently that photograph doesn't do the problem justice. It's actually worse than it looks in that picture.

Hmmm...my Lapis Blue Leather seats look a TAD like that picture. There is one spot about the size of a baseball on the blue part where they are a couple of very faint, light wrinkles that you have to be at least sitting in the driver's seat to notice. Everyone I've shown it to (non-MINI owners) say it's normal for leather to get some wrinkles like I have.

I'll have to keep monitoring this topic. Good luck Totoro - keep us posted!
