Hello everybody. So glad I finally purchased a Mini. I will be here more often

I have one quick question to ask.

I was shopping for small replacement parts (cabin filter, K&N air filter, etc.) from Advance Auto Parts website, and there are two different parts available for two different engine, N12B16A and W10B16A. I did some google research, but couldn't find the answer.

Can you please help me identify which engine my 2007 Justa have?

The N12B16A The N engine is the Gen 2 ( dual overhead cam ). PSA / MINI engine

The W10B16A The W is the single overhead cam from the Gen 1 MINIs. Tritech Engine.

Do you have a Convertible ( R52 Cooper W engine ) or a Hardtop ( R56 Cooper N engine ) ? Then I can give you the link to our site. Some places have there engine codes for wrong years or say Gen 1 MINIs stopped at 2006. So just watch for that.

Cabin filter: There are plain and Active Carbon, most go for the actve carbon as it tends to keep the smells out of the air in the HVAC system. Also these should be replaced often as they can get very dirty.
