Wife's Countryman idling rough and stalling
My wife's 2012 Countryman S All4 auto picked up some kind of a bug a few months ago, around the time the weather around here finally warmed up. About 5 minutes after a cold start, after the car has gone almost exactly 2 miles, the car will idle rough and sometimes stall when she takes her foot off the gas. There are two places that it happens almost consistently, and both are full stop intersections about 2 miles away from her originations -- one leaving the house (after it's been sitting in the garage overnight), and one leaving work (after it's been sitting outside all day). All the rest of the time, before and after these burps, the car runs fine.
The car is in its second visit to the dealer for this problem. First time it was there for three days, and they couldn't find anything. We could have left it for longer or taken it back, with the understanding that we'd report back as soon as it happened again, which of course it did. This time its been in for over two weeks; all they've had happen so far is rough idling, but no stalling. After opening a case with MINI and many days of trying this and that, they've still found nothing conclusive (i.e., the ECU isn't throwing a code, which I guess is the only way they know how to tell if anything is wrong these days).
As of this past Thursday, they were going to change the plugs and clean out the injectors. I guess it's possible the problem could be a clogged injector or two, but it seems to me that would cause symptoms much more frequently than just a few minutes into the daily commute. The car otherwise runs great, sometimes feeling even better than my Paceman All4 manual. So I guess I'm just kind of wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue (I've searched here but haven't seen anything like this), if it was fixed and how.
Thanks ....

My thoughts are gas and ethanol %. Have you tried changing up where you fill the tank?
My old Countryman is too new for me to have this experience, but sounds familiar to my old 540i experiences with gas issues.

Interesting you would mention that ... she did change jobs recently, and now she has to go well out of her way to find a Shell station (the stuff we try to always use). So she had a couple of tankfuls of some other cheap stuff awhile ago (Cumberland Farms, which I believe is Gulf, but who knows), but has gone back to Shell whenever possible, or Exxon-Mobil if she's on fumes. It's quite possible that she got some crap gas from one of those the cheapo pumps.
