Tricky Time Getting A Part

I need the tightening bolt for my ground wire on my R53 battery terminal. Any help would be great. I can't find a diagram but if you can find one I'll point it out quick.

They might not sell just the bolt. The whole #5 cable assembly is $25 from ECS.

I lucked out at the only dealership in Honolulu. Went to the parts dept. for that very piece and the guy had a bunch of the bolts stashed in a drawer. Seems like during battery replacement, it's a problem for their mechanics too. He ended up giving me one at no charge - really nice of him! Perhaps you could inquire at your local MINI parts department?

I think it's just standard hardware. You should be able to find something to fit that at your local hardware store.

The bottom of it is a like a "[" shape and on the inner edges at the corners it bulges, this is what causes tightening as it is mourned vertically rather than horizontally on most terminal mounts. Auto zone has never even heard of such a thing (partially expected).

Ok, I thought you just needed the nut. I'm guessing that Mini only sells the entire cable assembly. I know mine needed to be replaced because corrosion at the terminal away. AutoZone has standard battery cables that will work fine. Just get one that is about the same length.

If you have to have a genuine Mini battery cable, I'm sure you can get one from Mini of South Atlanta or another Mini parts dealer.

There are tow different cables, One is a straight post and one is the side post ( like seen in many R53 pics), where the cable comes in and made a 90 degree with the post.

Battery Cable Neg - part # 12427515200 Straight cable post.

&

Battery Cable - Negative side angle post. Part # 61121508937

Pic here

We tried before to find the T from the VW side but it was reported it would not work. So you have to get the whole cable.

Thanks
