'04 with a dead transmission... not worth fixing it. Any suggestions for a salvage yard on Oahu and what I might expect to get?

Its clean otherwise and even has new tires just a month or two old. :-(

Automatic, CVT or manual trans? Cooper or Cooper S?

Who said it was not worth fixing? I assume you have an automatic or CVT.

You can try the usual transmission shops and ask if they can get a used Trans.
Like Pearlcity transmission (671-8767) or Leeward Automotive (671-7898).

If it's an R53, please contact me. I have a friend parting out his car. Brand new 6MT with a factory LSD. Free. You just have to pull it from the car (in his yard).

Also an engine minus supercharger. Gotta act fast though. He is trying to get rid of the car in a week or so.

If I were you I would jump on that. That is one of the best deals you will ever come across. I would if I was back in the Islands!

 

Tony from Waialua/North Shore he picked up Mini for parts and he sells other things that he don't need.. I bought part from him in fact he has transmission and engine for sale... not sure which Model though i think he has R53 and non S --- 348-7739 he prefer Text first!!!

I just happen to be at Pearl City Lehua junk Car lot Thursday and saw 2004 Mini Cooper (non-S) on top of another car and ask the owner if he can bring the car down but he refused unless i buy nost of it.. wow i just left.

 

Is he parting out front Aluminum bumper?

The car only needs to be a rolling shell. He wants the supercharger bits but everything else can go. You just have to come over (Kaneohe) and take it off the car. The dricer's side A panel is smashed in but other than that the car is straight.
