Another newbie question.

Just bought a used '11 FJCW. It came without the book. Is there an oil life indicator to let me know when to change the oil or do I need to change every 3k miles?

Is there any aftermarket center speedometer delete kit? It seems to me that space would be much better with oil, H2O, and boost gauges. All I watch is the tach and the digital speedo.

The owners manuals are available for download as PDFs from the Owners Lounge.

https://ol.miniusa.com/auth/MINIOwnersManual.aspx

The computer on board wants to track oil change intervals, and Mini oil is supposed to go 10k between changes.

My suggestions would be:
1. change it now
2. run an official Mini oil, or a top quality synthetic - synthetic is HIGHLY recommended
3. change it every 5k miles

Cheers,

Charlie

I believe the oil life sensor on the computer actually measures oil life not just based on mileage. Otherwise, mobile one every 5k is a great place to start, turbos tend to burn oil, so definitely do not go too long without at least checking it.
