hello-

I'm looking for thoughts on a new humming noise coming from the front end of my 2011 hardtop (45k miles, automatic) when I'm driving. It's loud, usually starts at 30mph and get louder with speed. It's not particularly high pitched, but is higher pitched than the normal engine noise. I can hear it over the radio and can kind of feel a weird vibration on the gas pedal. When the car is decelerating, it seems even noisier. I tested putting on the gas while in park and I can still hear it as the RPMs get higher, but it's slight and not nearly as loud as when the car is in motion. I had an oil change about 1500 miles ago and fluid levels are good. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? I have an appointment at the dealer on Thursday, but would appreciate any thoughts before going.

when's the last time you rotated your tires?

Still on the original tires?

What are you running now ..... tires?

R U sure the two are conected?

 

Thanks! I'll take a look at the tires in the morning (I believe they're still the original ones but want to be sure). I use snow tires 5 months of the year though so these were put back on in April and they said they were in good shape.

I did notice that the noise changes level/sound when going around corners though. Thanks for the recommendation for looking at the tires more closely.
