R56 New clutch old flywheel dont feel power?
New clutch old flywheel dont feel power?
Hey guys got a new clutch fitted by local garage, the flywheel was "cleaned up" so they say says they didn't skim it but polished it (I have no idea what they meant by that...probably BS). No juddering, pulls fine but when it boosts it doesn't give that kick i was used to. Reason for changing clutch was the arm cracked that held the throwout bearing.
Is it a case of the new clutch bedding in or has the flywheel been messed up?

If you have a gen 1 then I believe it's a single mass flywheel and can be turned. If it's a gen 2 then it has a dual mass and can't be turned and needs to be replaced if it's damaged. Most independent shops don't have the mini slave cylinder bleeding tool to bleed it right.
Arms in 1gen Mini's broke in half a lot, you might try the 1gen threads as you'll get the right audience. My clutch components and flywheel was replaced less than a month and a half ago, I noticed more grip/bite when shifting gears. I can feel the extra pull!
S or non-s....
S was a dual mass if still OEM...non-s was conventional...
Sounds like it might be slipping....is the motor reving faster than it accelerates?
You might want the check the intercooler boots, etc...no reason they would have touched any of that....
It might be possible the vac line to the bypass valve is not hooked up or it is stuck...would result in little or no boost!!
