Startup Notification.....

Is there anyway to disable the startup alert that annoys the hell out of me EVERY time I start the vehicle? There has to be a way to disable this so I don't ALWAYS have to hit "accept".

Any help?

Thanks,

Dave

Are you talking about the Nav screen? Doesn't it dismiss by itself after about 10 seconds?

Yeah the alert that comes up on the screen every time I start up the car. Yes it goes away but it's damn annoying.

There might be a setting somewhere in NCS Expert.

Every car manufacturer does it in the US. Consider yourself lucky that it auto-dismisses. In the 1st generation MINI, before the Nav firmware was updated in 2006, the notification wouldn't even go away by itself. You had to manually dismiss it. Every. damn. time.

Thanks. Hopefully there is a way to turn this damn thing off! I still manually dismiss the alert anyway. I'd loose my skull if I had to wait for it to go off by itself. I just have to hit the d pad controller by the gear shifter to accept the warning. I really hate that damn thing.

Best to get a grip. Eventually, you'll have it and others. Twords the end, my would go from the start up text to the TMP Not Active warning to the low pressure warning. None of them would just go away. As far as I know, it's still doing it. Just glad it's doing it for someone else.

I'm not sure what warning everyone is talking about? Our NAV pops up with the Mini emblem for about 10 seconds, then goes straight to whatever screen was there when we last stopped the car....no muss, no fuss, just a normal software boot up of the NAV from what I can tell.
