I was all ready to pick up a volcanic orange today but with the body colored roof it just does not look right. I think it's just to much volcanic orange. As they were pulling it out a guy looked at it and said nice taxi. I like bold colors and I could care less if it looks like a taxi but it's a mini. Now my other option is to get the red in all body color. I'm am confused now as what color to get. I think a mini should have a contrasting roof. Most of the ones showing up at dealers now are all body color. Due to the factory only to producing solid color minis right now.



I can get this red one as it looks ok in the solid color and I could change the mirror caps to black and then maybe pull off the black stripes and put on the viper stripes. That cover the hood roof and back.




And then there is this color wow it looks good in the sun. But I'm still not sure.

 

I vote for the 3rd pic with the grayish color. Since no sunroof it will be easy to wrap the roof with a contrasting color if you want.

 

That's not at all true. There was a delay a couple months ago due to contrasting roofs, so the dealers likely switched most of their stock orders over to body color roofs, but even then it was only reduced capacity on contrasting roofs not zero contrasting roofs. Many of us who have had completed builds in the past month had contrasting roofs, myself included. As I understand it the delay is now over.

You could order one with a contrasting roof and wait it out =) But yeah, off the lot is probably going to be a lot of body color cars as dealers would've used their allotment of contrasting roofs on specific pre-sold orders.

 

I guess you have no preference for the base model vs. the S?

 

If you can wait 1.5 months, order you own exactly like you want it???

 

You know painting or wrapping the roof is no big deal at all, it would be a great way to have a one of a kind F56. The gray car would look good with jcw red, black, or a white roof.

I see it as an opportunity....

 

The contrasting roof issue has been resolved and so you could order what you want... but if you want a 2014 you better hurry, allocations are going fast.

 

You can wait for a MY2015 build in July and probably have a different color choice. I believe they will be offering a different blue and red. You may not be able to get a 2014 build anyway.

I actually like the yellow one but that's an awfully bold color to not have a contrasting roof.

 

I'd just go for the bodycolor roof...you can always vinyl wrap it a different color if you want..just my .02

 

I wish I didn't read the taxi comment - it's changed my view of the VO forever especially with the pic to back it up. Very much like the grey with a red wrap on the roof idea!
