Non Marring for black vinyl wax

Looking for waxes that can be applied to the entire car.
Ones that don't leave residue on the black vinyl
In fact ones that can be applied to vinyl TOO!

Don't think you will. Wax is wax and plastic treatment is entirely different. Clear coat ain't plastic and visa versa. Check with Richard Lin at Showcardetailing.com. He is THE detailing guru and is usually very prompt in answering email inquiries. You'll find tons of his wisdom all thru the Detailing 101 threads. He will recommend along with me to get a jar of his Black Wow for the trim. There is nothing that comes close.

I used to use Meguiars Quik Wax (here) regularly, and still use it when I don't have time/patience for a full paste wax. It looks good on the paint, and doesn't leave white residue on the wheelarches, etc.

I want to say one of the Prima products, maybe Hydro Seal or Banana Gloss, may be applicable across the different surfaces. Not sure these would qualify as a full-on wax though. I have not used either of those - still working through my supply of Epic and Black Wow.

PS: Richard Lin uses Prima products exclusively and has them for sale thru his shop along with Black Wow. BTW, he and his chemical engineer type father invented Black Wow.

I've been using the Werkstat system for a few years and it doesn't leave residue on the black trim. It's more of an acrylic sealer than a wax. If I wax (Collinite usually) I wash and wax first then do the black trim. Lots of trim treatments out there. Many people swear by Black Wow. I use Kiwi Edge and Trim shoe polish and it works great. YMMV.

Pinnacle sovereign or Collinate 915 would be a good wax to apply. It has pure carnauba wax with out any polish or cleaner. So surely it will not leave any marring.

You'd have more luck with a synthetic, but if it has to be a wax, P21s or the Dodo waxes are very good and don't dry as white as many waxes. Lusso is another quality carnauba but does leave a little trace on trim bits.

The ideal would be to use a sealant like OptiCoat on the paint and trim and then apply a carnauba over that.

I agree Opticoat would be the best way to protect your car. But it will be costly and time consuming but worth the effort.
