Boost gauge Help!

I want to install a boost gauge but have a few problems...

First I have NAV, so most of the ones that are designed for the Mini are for non-nav Mini's.

Second, those models are too costly.

Is there not a cheaper way to add a boost gauge than 300-500 bucks? What is involved? How is the gauge connected to the car's electrical and vaccum?

Any ideas would be a help, thanks,

James

Try looking at "mechanical" boost guages. Typically they run $45-$65 bucks. In addition to a couple of lighting wires, they only require a small plastic tube to be routed from the engine bay to the guage. Some "mechanical" boost guages also require a small kit to fit them ($10 worth of tubing, clips and wire splices).

As for mounting the guage, all manufactures have a variety of pods available at very reasonable prices ($15). They are usually black plasic swivel housings that can be stuck or screwed to any location/surface you choose.

Wish someone made an A-pillar mounting pod that would work with the MINI.

Felix:

We have the single mechanical gauge kit (gauge, hardware, etc.), cup, and bracket for $199. The bracket is designed specifically for cars with nav., and can mount 1, 2, or 3 gauges.

Eric,

I was there tuesday when you installed my 19% pulley, I wish I knew I would ahve picked it up then.. Shoot me an email at jfelix@sankyopharma.com to let me know how much to install it also. May be you can do a rear swaybar and the gauge install.

Thanks,

James
