Hello everyone,
So I'm pretty sure this is for aerodynamic purposes but does anyone have a technical explanation for the purpose of these little things? One of mine fell off while washing the car.

Should I glue it back on there or forget about it? I got my rack used and I only ever remember it having two of these things. Now that the left one fell off its symmetrical but I still need to know!
Thanks!

Yes, they look like little wind deflector on the under side. Looks like on front set of bars and three going across. Looks like all models bars don't have them. BTW the carbon fiber Di noc wrap look nice. First time I have seen them come off. No part number for them I could find.

I was told they are for wind noise and they were an afterthought. The earlier release didn't have the wings and they were added later apparently due to wind noise complaints. I took mine off when I wrapped the bars and glued them back on. I don't know if they really help or not but as loud as mine is I wasn't going to test it. There are 3 of them, left, right and center. If you have a sunroof, the easiest way to get to the underside of the bar and glue them centrally on the bar front to back is to open the sunroof. I was struggling and then went duh!
I bought it with 2 and now if I glue one back I'm gonna want a third one! Maybe I can come up with something on my own....
Hey ECS, is this the part number for the bolts that connect the aluminum bar to the actual roof mounts for the rack? ES#: 2725347

Hello Joyride305,
Looks like the set of shoulder nuts, that are brass I believe that tighten the shoulder to the rail.

The nuts set currently will have to come from overseas, but are available.
