Tread life is very short on these Continental tires. I like the Michelin Premier A/S. Low noise great grip 60k tread life. The only drawback is there is no runflat.
How many of you running the DWSs, use them all year long?
If you are running snows in the Winter, what snow?
I bought my Clubman with Continental DWS, and they were terrible. The only thing good about them was they were quiet. They only lasted about 15k miles, too.
Your profile says you live in Massachusetts... I would consider two sets of wheels: summer, and winter.
For winter use, I've ad real good success with General Altimax Arctics in 205/55-16 mounted to some 16" Mini take-offs.
For summer use, go with something with a ~400 tread wear rating, and get a quality wheel alignment. Rotate the wheels halfway through the season, and they should last you a few years.
Continental DWS 06 215/45-17. Initially, I thought they were a bit squirmy ... not surprising since I previously had Continental ExtremeContact Sport max performance summer tires. Since then, I have really come to like them as they have settled in nicely. One thing I did notice is that they are very pressure sensitive ... 37F/35R seems to work very nicely on my car.

For summer I been using A/S 3+; incredible in the rain, grippy in dry. I need a new set of snows this winter....
FWIW ... I had the Michelin A/S 3+ on my 2016 Golf R. They only lasted just over 20K. Michelin purchased them back. I had one of the original versions of the DWS on my previous 2011 JCW Clubman. Tires were very good from dry, to wet, to snow ... But I thought the sidewalls were a little soft. With that said, back in March of last year Discount tire recommended the DWS on my Golf R to replace the A/S 3+. They stated if I did not like for any reason they would switch them out. WOW big difference over the A/S 3+ in a good way. When I purchased my JCW back in Sept I replaced the OE summer tires for the DWS. At least for me, I really like these tires and would recommend these tires. Hope this helps...
