I've been looking for a set of wheels for my 08 R52 JCW and found these near me. I want to get some opinions on what they are worth. Supposedly they were only used for 2 summers and the tires are good but been in the basement for 7 years so I dont know if they are still good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

If the tires have been sitting for 7 years, they are definitely no longer good. Vulcanization requires periodic re-heating, and for tires, that conveniently happens by simply driving on them. in other words, if they haven't been driven, they haven't been re-heated. So, I would only pay what the wheels, by themselves, are worth to you.

 

Yes from what I've read online 5 to 6 years is what most places say is the most. A few said 10 depending on how they are stored but I kind of figured I'd be buying them just for the wheels. Now to figure out what a fair price would be. He said they are in great shape.

 

Nothing special about the wheels, apart from the look. They are a tire store wheel. Since the tires will need replacing, without knowing his asking price, I would offer $400 and go from there.
