I'm brand new to the forum, but have searched for a DEFINITIVE answer on this question, and have found vague feedback.

I have an R55 ('14 Clubman S), NOT lowered, stock 17" conical rims.

I'm hoping to put on a set of Axis Klassic rims that are 17x7.5, +35 offset, with a meatier tire than stock (stock runflats are brutal on bumps), either a 205/45/17, or a 215/45/17.

I'd be willing to go with a 40 sidewall if need be.

Please reply if this definitely fits without rubbing issues, or sticks out beyond flush with the car. Pics would be ideal if possible.

Should fit OK

17x7.5" rim is wider than stock and sticks out about 19mm more than OEM wheel. You can use a little more negative camber to tuck in the top outer tread edge of the tire or you can use 205/45-17 to make the tread surface a little more narrow than the rim (slightly stretched fit).


17x7.5" rim and 205/45-17 tire.

215/45-17 tire is wider and taller than stock

Tire selection is good for 215/45-17

I decided to keep my original wheel after all- just gonna change out my bone-jarring run flats for 215-45-17 'regular' tires.
