Hit a deer this morning 03/12/14
Ouch! Hope you're ok. I've had a few wildlife vs. car encounters in my day, luckily none with the MINI, and I know they are no fun.
Hope you can get things repaired and back to normal soon.

Glad you're ok. Have you thought about trying those deer warning devices?
Sorry about the deer. A buddy of mine hit one and it ended up halfway through his (closed) sunroof. A little freaky... MINI ended up better than ever afterwards.
Glad that you're OK - and hope repairs go smoothly with nothing unexpected!

I'm convinced deer like the blue minis. Don't bother with those deer warning pieces, I hit my first deer with them after it made a 90 degree turn to run in front of me. My sister too. I think they attract them instead of deter them.
Deer
Sorry to hear - ouch!
We have deer where I live and country roads. Anything or advice to take preventative measures?
Makes me nervous as it is 6AM and dark outside or coming home late. Is hitting a deer normally a morning thing? Certain windows of time are deemed bad?
Do bright lights attract them?
Just wish I could do more besides slowing down and looking.

It might just be me, but I feel an hour before and after dawn and dusk are when they are moving the most. Just watching for them can go a long way, but the one I hit seemed to just appear out of nowhere. It can happen to anyone.
I also live in eastern ky, where the roads and terrain are a little trickier as we'll.

Blue Mini
Nice Mini!
I lived in Lexington for a time. Now I am NE Georgia. NE suburbs of Atlanta. Country surrounded by Horse Farms again.
I have seen deer dart out of the woods and into small neighborhoods on the other side. Fortunately, they or what I saw was way ahead of me.
Always on alert on the back roads, but they can come out of nowhere and give no notice.

I had the same experience with Geico - 7 days until they saw mine, but it was 2 months after Hurricane Sandy... I thought 7 days was the max amount of time for an adjuster to show.
Sucks too if you have to get a rental - only 30 days and my car took longer.
In the end, Geico sucked as an insurance company, but my body shop beat the crap out of them over stuff so I ended up getting 2/3's of the JCW aero kit with minimum $$$ out of my pocket.
