Started my DIY GP IC project

thanks again to the member who donated the first of 2 needed stock IC's for the R53 mini.!

i have started the project and made some nice headway. i have cut an additional 4! yes 4 rows of IC to attach to another stock IC, making a GP++ IC!
***(hoping this will fit, havent checked hood clearance, but its easy enough to fix)... also want everyones input if this will be too much of an increase in capacity of the IC, creating more than desired boost loss. So please dont be shy with your input!

enjoy the photo documented process. i used a HF vibrating cutting tool for this. i liked it bc it gave me pretty fine control over my cutting without heating everything up and spewing aluminum at me like a cutting wheel.

still need another IC... asking for donations first, since i have to pay for the welding. unless someone here can weld and would like to donate to the project! I will also have left over rows of IC, so there are still at least 2 left over "chunks" of stock IC that can be ground down into extensions. i will trade work and these additional chunks for another IC.

very cool! sorry if i had either a another core or welder id help you out. cant wait to see how this turns out!

does anyone know if there is a lost in boost going from a stock to a gp? if not im sure than an additional 2 rows to the gp would not lose much more.

On the engine!

I have not read of any boost lost with the GP IC... I think the additional 2 rows will fit if I leave off the bolts / bracket and edging!

i can only find them for like $100. was hoping to score one for like 20 bucks. offered 20 to a guy, and was very quickly denied. lol.

im going to build a mini mill with an extra dremel tool and slide vise. i have to deck a layer of aluminum off the top of the OEM IC so the extra rows will fit flush. will post pics of that build too!
