R56 Sun visor light?
Sun visor light?
Today I notice the lights in my sun visor on the driver side were out. The passenger side is still working fine. Is there a guide on here to fix it yourself? I looked but couldn't find one. Or would it be easier to just take it to the dealership? Forgot the say I have a MCS 2009

There is a little plug that connects at the end of the visor. make sure it not unplugged a little or somehow was loose first. There are two little screws that hold in the unit to the headliner , then a little plug in socket for the power. Trigger inside the flap ,might be bad also, its wired in. There is no separate part number for the bulbs or trigger.
This is for the R55 and R56 Models up to 8/2010 using Hellgrau or "Gray". In 8/2010+ they went to a beige color and different part number.

You are welcome. I remember last time I messed with one, the mirror and trim stuff was bonded on the front and the otter lining is sealed. So I don't know much about taking it apart other the there is a switch with the flap. Check that connection plug also.
Thanks and good luck. You have the part numbers above if nothing else works.

If you are going to remove the mirror only, be careful not to broke the clips as they are quite brittle. Mine just falls off when i was driving it and the lights in it stay on as the mirror thing has something to stick out to push the light switch for the 2 bulbs inside the actual visor. Cost me a new visor because of this. You can actually do it yourself in 5 min. (Remove the 2 screw covers with a knife and 2 screws holding it, REMEMBER to keep those as they arent included in the new visor) (feels much more soild than the original 09 visor) And it looks like all of the new visors got english and french warning on it, instead of english only. Mine is a 09 R56S too
