R56 Car Cranks but does not start
Car Cranks but does not start
Greetings All,
Just had a frustrating evening....
I have a 2008 R56 MCS with 120k miles. I got to work today car drove absolutely fine, when I get out of work this evening car will not start. Headlights, interior lights, everything has plenty of power but does not want to fire/turnover. Starter goes and cranks the car but it just won't go. I tried cranking for a while but to no avail, had a coworker jump (I first thought it was battery) and no go either. I checked for loose wires and all that fun stuff but nothing.
I had the fuel pump replaced at 90k miles under the extended warranty for it, so its relatively new and always do regular maintenance on my car. The battery is the original battery (I know my bad have not replaced it, but also never had symptoms in needing replacement) but I don't think its the issue here. Plugs were replaced at about 70k miles as well.
I'm out of ideas and did not think/could check fuses or any other sensors but need more inspiration from my fellow motorers.
So far my poor MCS has to spend the night at the work parking lot until I can tow it tomorrow or figure out what to do.
I've been tossing around maybe its fuel pump fuse/pump itself, timing chain? Battery? Gremlins?
Any suggestions would be appreciated/help. Thanks in advance.

No turning over at all, there is a very very very small almost faint sign of a turn over but nothing. It will just crank until the car stops cranking by itself, I repeat and nothing.
The HPFP was replaced as part of the 'extended' warranty. Of course it could also 're-break' Would a HPFP throw codes? Is there any way I can test for HPFP?
Sometimes it will throw a code and even the engine light will come on but not always.
You could test it with either a scanner to see what pressure it's getting or a manual fuel gauge inline from the in tank pump to see if the pressure is fine coming from there. There's a video on it somewhere, I'll see if I can track it down.
I've heard of many HPFPs going out more than once so wouldn't be totally out of the question.
Of course it could also be something simple like bad gas but probably unlikely.
